James “Kimo” Cornwell is one of finest keyboard players to ever come out of Hawaii.  I first heard him years ago performing with popular island bands, including a great little jazz group he formed along with Michael Paulo, known as Watercolors.  In the 80s, Kimo went on to perform and record with a variety of artists including Cheryl Lynn, Ronnie Laws, Al Jarreau, Frankie Beverly and Maze, and John Klemmer.

For the past two decades, Kimo, has been making some great music as the keyboardist, composer, arranger and co-producer for the two-time Grammy nominated group, Hiroshima, based in Los Angeles.

When Hiroshima performed in Hawaii a few years ago, Terry Steele brought down the house as their lead singer. He still performs with the jazz-fusion band, and has made quite a name for himself as a singer and songwriter. He was the principal writer for the Grammy award-winning hit “Here and Now,” sung by Luther Vandross.
