For hours, thousands of Hawaii Five-0 fans waited in the hot Hawaiian sun to get a glimpse of the show’s stars on Waikiki Beach. Here’s a peek at a bit of the action on the Red Carpet at the world premiere of “Hawaii Five-o” Season 2 on September 10, 2011.
Masi Oka, who starred in the TV series “Heroes,” had a recurring role as Dr. Max Bergman in “Hawaii Five-0” Season 1. Now, he’s back as a regular cast member in Season 2 with his own quirky brand of humor. And it works.

Meet Hawaii Five-0’s magicians: Executive producers, Roberto Orci and Peter Lenkov. What’s their biggest challenge? “Trying to do a mini-movie every week,” says Lenkov. They’re on a roll, the Season 2 premiere is riveting.
There was lots of glitz and glamour on the Red Carpet.
Daniela Ruah, who plays Kensi Blye in the CBS series “NCIS: Los Angeles” (Naval Criminal Investigative Service), is here to film a crossover episode with “Hawaii Five-0.”
Other guest stars set to appear in Season 2 include: Peter Fonda, Patty Duke and Tom Sizemore.
Heard there’s a new detective on the block. Lauren German will play Lori Weston, who joins the elite crime fighting team in Season 2.
Grace Park, who plays detective Kono Kalakaua, strolls down the Red Carpet. At the end of Season 1, we saw Kono booked into jail, just after Steve McGarrett. How did she get out of the pokey?
Local boy, Mark Dacascos, shown here giving us the shaka sign, has come a long way, and continues to surprise us with his own take on playing the evil Wo Fat. Have yet to see his martial arts skills put to use in the action packed drama, but got a hunch, “it’s coming.”
Daniel Dae Kim has been riding a pretty good wave, first in “Lost,” and now in another season of “Hawaii Five-0” as Chin Ho Kelly.
Speaking of “Lost,” good to see Emmy award-winning “Lost” alum, Terry O’Quinn, back on the screen. In “Hawaii Five-0” Season 2, he takes on a new role as Lt. Cmdr. Joe White, the Navy SEAL who trained Steve McGarrett (played by Alex O’Loughlin).
When asked: What can viewers expect from his new character? O’Quinn says, “Hope to add some flavor to the stew.”
More to come on the “Hawaii Five-o” Premiere on Waikiki Beach. Stay tuned. Aloha.
