Hiroshima performs in Hawaii

HIROSHIMA

For more than 30 years, the band, Hiroshima, has been creating its own unique sound. Influenced by jazz and rhythm and blues, the group also features artists playing Japanese instruments like the taiko drum and June Kuramoto on koto.

The last time the group performed in the Islands, it headlined the 2010 Pacific Rim Jazz Festival.

These days, Hiroshima is celebrating the release of its latest CD “Departure.” On the recording, the band stretches out with several new tunes, and also features new arrangements of two of its earlier hit songs, including “One Wish.”

Here’s a look back at Hiroshima’s 1986 video of “One Wish”.
